Microsoft, Huawei and Asus are the least sustainable electronics brands. The Dutch Fairphone scores a B-label, meaning they are 'on the right track'. Rank a Brand and Friends of the Earth Netherlands have made a sustainable ranking of 20 electronics companies.

Microsoft says no to decent conditions for their miners

Microsoft still does not want to use responsible tin for its electronics. Contrary to brands like Philips, Apple and Samsung, the company has turned down two invitations, to cooperate on fair tin mining with respect for the nature and people of the Indonesian island Bangka, where one third of the all tin comes from. Therefore last week we made a comparison of working conditions at Microsoft in the Netherlands and for tin miners on Bangka, with undercover video footage. Check the video here.
