- Our sister organisation Walhi asks for our help in its campaign against the pollution caused by the Grasberg Mine on New Guinea. The waste from this copper and goldmine pollutes the entire river system. Serious damage is thus being done to the environment, with grave consequences for both humans and wildlife. The Dutch company ABP is shareholder in the mining company – Friends of the Earth Netherlands wants to increase pressure on this company through ABP. Therefore, call on ABP to demand environmentally responsible management of the mine. If results are not achieved, ABP should sell its shares in the company.
